“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.”
Where is the battle fought in the Christian walk? It is fought in our minds. It is in our imaginations and fantasies where we can lose the battles. All of a sudden, that very seed that enters our mind becomes a thought. That very thought becomes a desire. That very desire becomes an action, and that action becomes the very sin that can destroy us. Oh, we can try and get rid of them, but we just can’t in our flesh. If we’re ever going to have victory over this area of our lives, it’s going to be as we learn to worship and live in the presence of God. “The spirit (human) indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak” Matthew 26:41. It is easy to give in to the flesh. The flesh (that part of us that is alienated from God) is bigger than we are. The flesh is stronger than we think. We are in a spiritual battle. We wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities and powers. It is a spiritual thing. This is that moment in our lives where we need to draw closer to God. Let’s not let Satan do it. Let’s not let him put those ungodly thoughts in our minds. “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God” Romans 12:2. We must not allow the enemy to rob us.
