“Set your mind on things above, not on the things of earth.
For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.”
The problem many of us face today is that people are constantly telling us to get a life. So we are out there working day and night. We are seeking to do all that we can to try and make an impact within the lives in which we live. There is inside of us that desire to have that abundant life. But the problem is that in this world in which we live, it is going to be brutal. We’re going to have difficult times. Seeking to try to get a life could be the very thing that destroys our whole being. I would rather say, “Listen, we need to get another life.” It’s not about our lives; it’s not about the selfishness of who we are, but it’s about us coming to die to ourselves. The moment we are willing to die to ourselves, there’s another one called the Comforter that will come and fill our hearts with the goodness of God. Then the blessings of God and the anointing of God is going to explode. Our “other” life needs to be Christ-centered and a life of total surrender. Jesus said, “I came that they may have life and have it abundantly” John 10:10.
