“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.”
When we think of the deep discouragement that comes with loneliness, it can break our hearts. Some people are going through difficult times being lonely. Maybe they have lost their spouse, a close relative or a close friend? Many of us have broken relationships. Some have even gone through a divorce. Some are going through a time of depression even right now. God is not ashamed to hang out with us during our depression, during those lonely moments of our lives. But God wants us to see Him. God wants us to know that at the source of that loneliness is the absence of the presence of God. There is no loneliness when it comes to being a Christian because Jesus declared that He will never leave us nor forsake us. So no matter what heights or success we attain in life, or what depths of loneliness we are experiencing, Jesus Christ is already there. He will never condemn us for those lonely moments of our lives. He’ll just show up and be our friend. And that’s having good company.
