“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”
Is Christ the most important person to us? Is He the focal point of our lives? Are our minds set on heavenly things? Jesus said, “Where your treasure is, there will your heart be also” Matthew 6:21. And so, if we are preoccupied, having our minds spent on the things of this world, looking around for material things to satisfy ourselves, then we will discover that those things are never going to fulfill our lives. Now there’s nothing wrong with “those things.” But there’s everything wrong when they become the very pre-eminence of our lives. If we seek first the kingdom of God, then these things will be added. The key word is “then.” When we have a man or a woman who is constantly focused on the things of God, we’re going to have an instrument that God is going to use in a very powerful way. But when we have an instrument that has allowed material things to get in the way, God can no longer use that instrument in a way that He desires or the way that He has purposed. Today, put material things in their proper perspective. Realize that God has given you everything you need for life and your godliness, and understand what God has given to you and continue to offer those things back to Him.
