But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty.
1 Corinthians 1:27
Do you feel like a “nobody?” Do you feel unworthy, unable, or as if you’re not good enough? Then you are qualified! Did you know that you have been chosen by God to accomplish great things to further His kingdom, and bring Him glory? It’s true. However, the calling of God is contrary to the things of this world. By the world’s standards, great men and women are recognized as those who are good looking, the CEO of a Fortune 500 company, charming, charismatic, able to pull things together, able to manage and to delegate, as well as being a successful entrepreneur. Man looks at the outward things of this world, but God is concerned with what’s going on inwardly. He is more interested with what’s going on inside of our hearts. He has chosen the foolish things of this world to confound the wise. He has chosen the weak things of this world to embarrass those things the world considers mighty. Yet, we oftentimes disqualify ourselves from ever being used by God. We allow our doubts and our insecurities to hinder the power God wants to demonstrate in and through us. If we love the Lord, if we trust the Lord, and if we are filled with the power of His Holy Spirit, then we can be used by God in a very powerful way, and really make a difference for the kingdom of God. But we are to be patient. We need to wait for God to work in and through our lives, because we believe that He has the tremendous ability to take people who are labeled a “nobody” and make them into a “somebody.”
