Shouldn’t We Be Praying?

Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us
with groanings which cannot be uttered.

Why is it that we do not pray? Why is it so hard for us to bow down to the One who made us, knows us and understands how we function? We can be dealt with by God; we can be chastised and corrected by God, but we will still at times, refuse to pray. We can go through our marriage problems, and still won’t pray. We can go through financial difficulties, but we will not bow down on our knees and pray. There are many Christians who will not pray simply because they are prideful. I’m convinced that most people, when they are dealt with, walk away from God. They don’t want to approach God because they have an attitude with God. The Bible says that if we’re not praying, if we’re not looking to God, then there’s no godliness within our lives. We’re not walking with God and we are out of fellowship with Him. Everything that we encounter should be pointing us to God, and we should be running to the cross, asking for God’s forgiveness. When was the last time you really wept before the Lord—asking God why your life is such a mess. Why am I so angry…why do I have this attitude? Pray, and God will show you. He will open your eyes and He will speak to you in a very powerful way.
